Since he has been in the NHL, Connor McDavid has been known for his speed, his pinpoint accuracy, and his flair for the dramatic. Opening Night of the 2022-2023 season saw him put together a career night as he would reach 700 points in style with 4 points and a hat trick. His 300th goal was almost just as dramatic. Playing at home against the Kings the Oilers were nursing a tight 1-0 lead and with the Kings on a power play early in the 3rd Period McDavid stole an errant pass from Kings Defenseman Sean Durzi and raced forward into the Kings zone flipping a wrist shot past goalie Joonas Korpisalo. With the short-handed goal McDavid became the 5th player in league history to reach 300 goals and 500 assists before playing 600 career games, done only by Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Peter Statsny, and Bryan Trottier.
